2020 Santa Sofia Garda Pinot Grigio

12X750 – 40 cases available
SKU #419849 $20.98 Wholesale Spec

Grapes harvested in the Garda area, from vineyards planted on the alluvial soils of the moraine hills, east of Lake Garda.

Varieties: 100% Pinot Grigio

A delicate, pale yellow with fascinating silvery hues, it has a fine and harmonious nose offering citrus notes of bergamot and grapefruit, tropical fruit, pineapple in particular, with hints of dry herbs and thyme. The palate has a good texture, very fresh and pleasantly acidic with its touch of lime, that leaves a very sapid, almost marine impression in the mouth. The finish is long, clean, coherent with the nose and induces to take another sip.

Food Pairings: light, freshwater fish recipes featuring trout, European whitefish or white-clawed crayfish. It ages well for up to 3 years, becoming increasingly complex as the time goes by, and better suited for more challenging dishes, such as risotto with perch.

2021 Niepoort Nat Cool Vinho Verde

12X1000ml – 45 cases available
SKU #079158 $23.98 Wholesale Spec

Nat Cool is naturally “cool and funky”. It represents an innovative concept initiated by Niepoort, in which various producers came together to create light, easy-to-drink wines. In the Vinho Verde region, we produced a wine typical of the region – a wine which references the “cloudy” wines of the past which were bottled with some residual sugar and fine lees, and therefore re-fermented in the bottle. Welcome to the Nat Cool world!

The grapes mainly stem from the sub-region of Lousada. The wine was made according to the old-fashioned method: a few grams of sugar were retained in the wine so that it would ferment again in bottle. Malolactic fermentation also took place in bottle.

TASTING NOTES
This white wine was produced using a minimal intervention winemaking approach and is naturally turbid as it fermented in the bottle.
It presents lemon yellow hues with subtle hints of green.

Its aromas are reminiscent of the wines that used to be produced in the Vinho Verde region long ago, with yeasty, citrussy and nutty notes. The palate boasts outstanding acidity, a delicate mousse which renders it vibrant and some saline flavours on the finish. This is an intentionally uncomplicated wine: lightly shake the bottle before opening and enjoy with traditional Portuguese snacks!

2020 Le Colonne Vermentino

12X750 – 19 cases available
SKU #224852 $21.94 Wholesale Spec

The estate “Le Colonne” of Dievole winery produces this sensational Vermentino, of the Tuscan tradition, with 100% Vermentino grapes. The vineyard is located 40 meters above the sea level and benefits from its influence. The vines are cultivated on lands composed by river sediments full of minerals and sands. The vineyards have a west exposition and are trained with Guyot method. 5600 stumps per hectare give 100 quintals grapes. Classic wine making with cooling process. The fermentation is manged in steel at 18°C controlled temperature and lasts for 12 days. The aging is developed in steel too and lasts for 3 months.

The organoleptic exam reveals a shiny straw yellow colour. Its perfume is full of defined aromas that recall flowers, citrus fruits and herbs like sage and rosemary. The taste is intense, structured fresh and elegant. Noble tannins, long persistence.

A traditional white wine that goes on well with fish and starters. It has to be served at 12°C in a high, wide wine glass that helps the concentration of the scents.

 2021 Duckhorn Decoy
Sauvignon Blanc

12X750 – 49 cases available

SKU #449371 $21.91 Wholesale Spec

Varietal Composition: 100% Sauvignon Blanc

This crisp and refreshing Sauvignon Blanc draws you in with tantalizing aromas of pineapple, Meyer lemon, green apple, lime zest and flint. On the palate, lovely underlying acidity enlivens the zesty citrus flavors, culminating in a bright and energetic lemon-lime finish.

The growing season began with minimal winter rains and a mild spring. With drought conditions throughout California, we carefully tailored our vineyard practices to ensure balanced crop loads. With slightly elevated temperatures, budbreak at our North Coast vineyards was approximately two weeks ahead of the cooler Central Coast. As a result, our North Coast harvest concluded on October 15th, with our harvest on the Central Coast wrapping up on November 6th. In both regions, the berries and clusters were smaller than average, producing lower yields but deeply concentrated flavors, aromas and textures. Overall, the resulting wines are of exceptional quality, with lovely balance, excellent natural acidity and bright, juicy flavors.
